| happy holiday season from vegas! =) yup...me just visiting my dad for about a week, so that's why im here...by myself. well, there are the two dogs that my dad has, but one of them is annoying (the ugly one), so im really here to just visit my dad and the cuter dog (he's a pomeranian..."fay joo"...which means fat pig in chinese...haha). he's really cute and really smart for a pom, but he also cares about the ugly dog. why is the other dog ugly??? well, she's a mixed chiuhuahua plus bull dog, so that's not a good match all ready, plus her fur is thin and does not look smooth, so she's kinda messy looking, like she's been out in the street as a stray dog. but since that's how she naturally looks like, she's just naturally ugly...haha =) yeah...i know im so mean. but everyone in my family agrees. we all call her "ugly dog" in chinese. and she barks a lot, esp when she sees me. i don't think she likes me very much b/c i scared her on purpose by barking (louder than her) in front of her face. she jumped back away from me, then started to bark even more...haha. my dad and i were laughing so loud...haha =) but i think she never forgot that day b/c everytime when she sees me now, she'll keep barking at me. and it's not a welcoming one...haha. she got bigger ever since my family and i met her on thanxgiving weekend, but she's just as ugly, stupid (not as trained as fay joo), and annoying as ever. actually, she's even more annoying now, since she barks more. i just wanna kick that dog out in the streets. anyway, i haven't done very much here except chill, eat, and shop. i also got annoyed at my dad for not being a responsible landlord in terms of getting the tenants' info and knowing what's in the contract/rental agreement. for the tenant's info, he does't require them to fill out an application, he only makes a copy of their drivers license and social security card, so he has no idea what their rental history is like, what they do, how much they make, their references, emergency contact, etc. and he doesn't check their credit history. so that's one of the reasons that the last tenant he had did not have enough money to pay rent. *sigh* and there's the contract that he uses. besides the parts that he needs to fill out (term of the agreement, money for security deposit and fees, and tenants names, etc.), he has not really read the contract. after reading part of it and translating it to him (as best as i can), he realized he wanted to change more things, like the late fees and stuff. *sigh* im not gonna get into more detail of what he is doing wrong as a landlord, but rite now he is just being dumb and not responsible as he should be. it seems like as long as ppl give him money, then he'll rent the place to them. he needs to more strict than that if he wants a more secured tenant. well, i better start translating the rest of the contract to my dad. we also need to make a clean copy of the contract to give to potential tenants to fill out today (or whenever bc i don't really care...my dad can do whatever he wants...i all ready yelled at him enough, so who knows if he will actually listen or not. well, at least he wants to modify the contract a little bit, so that's a start. i printed out a rental application form that he can use, so it's up to him if he wants to use it bc i...don't...care). 2008 is almost here and i really hope that it's gonna be better than this year cuz a lot of this year sucked! and it sucked ass! im glad that 2007 is almost over! just a few more days!!! 'til next year! =) | | |
| wow...haven't updated in a really long time. but a lot has happened since barry hit his 756 run. too bad he won't be playing for the giants anymore. =) i'll still cheer for him regardless what team that he may join next (even if it's the LA dodgers). thank you, barry!!! =) besides missing barry on the giants, sept was a bday month. during labor day weekend, alex and i celebrated our bdays w/ each other as well as w/ friends. dinner was fine, but there was drama at the club with a few of my friends...why does drama always occur on my bdays??? maybe i shouldn't have anymore bdays. as for alex and i, we just went to the jelly bean factory in vacaville and took a lil tour. it was fun to try out all those jelly beans! =) and we ate at a athenian/american (it's actually more american) resturant in suisun, near fairfield. it's okay, but since we ate outside, there were a bunch of mosquitos that ended up coming out and biting us. i had about 2-3 bites from them. alex had a few more...poor guy. i learn my lesson not to eat out there anymore on a hot summer day. the weekend after that, we celebrated jon's bday. lucky guy...no drama that nite. then i think the next nite we went out w/ alex's family to celebrate a few bdays: his dad, himself, as well as his niece. the resturant was near the stroneridge mall...who knew that there was chinese seafood resturant over there? haha =) it was okay...we got a lot of food and dessert tho, since alex's sis and her husband knew the owner/manager. then the weekend after that, i went out w/ my mom and sis to dim sum at the great mall (yes, at the mayflower resturant), to celebrate our belated bdays (my sis's bday is three days after mine). didn't do much after that, but i had a good, chill day. then the weekend after that (last weekend of sept), i went to disneyland w/ my old coworker (lichelle) and her lil sis. it was fun, since i haven't been to disneyland for over 12 yrs. CA adventures was fun too. glad that lichelle and ivee went on more rides that they expected...haha =) i should bring alex there one day. =) we also checked out a medieval times show and stopped by downtown disney. lichelle's bday is actually in the beginning of oct, but it's still close to sept. =) after celebrating all the sept bdays, i had to go back to macau (the same week that i just got back from LA) for a family emergency. im still sad from it, so im not gonna get into that. but it was good to see my aunts (they got annoying at times) and my cousins (most of them), so that's the positive side to my trip. there were lots of negatives though. one of them is the annoyance from my aunts and my mom. i also got mad at my mom for always leaving my sis and i out of things...not telling us what is going on or what to do. if my dad was there, he would have told us everything so that we would not have been too left out. i'll get into all the negative stuff about my aunt and mom later b/c i should not distract myself from work right now...haha =) but i got back about two days ago and am still feeling a lil' jet lag. my sis came back last fri and my mom is still over there until either this thurs or fri. who knew all of us would come back separately? i stayed an extra few days, so that i can come back w/ my mom. now im gonna worry about my mom coming back by herself. i would have stayed the extra few days w/ her, but i can't stand the boredom over there. if you're with my aunts, all u do is eat, talk, eat, talk, then eat and talk some more. *sigh* anyway, i better go. 'til next time! =) | | |
| wow...haven't updated in a while, but i just wanted to say... CONGRATS TO BARRY BONDS!!! HE FINALLY BROKE HANK AARON'S RECORD WITH 756!!! =) WOoOoOoOHoOoOOOoO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALL THANX TO WASHINGTON'S PITCHER, BACSIK. GO BARRY!!!! =) BARRY, BARRY, BARRY!!!!! =) =) =) =) AND THE HOME RUN LOOKED GOOD TOO! =) some guy wearing a pitsburgh pirates jersey (traitor!!!) caught the ball too...he's rich now, since that ball is worth a lot. alrighty, gonna watch the rest of the game. goOoOO GIANTS!!! =) woohoo to barry!!! =) | | |
| yeah! today is a sunday and i don't have anything to do! =) actually, im just watching the giants game (away game against the phillies...we're winning so far. =)) and waiting for my bf to finish helping out his mom w/ moving bricks in the backyard, so that we can get ready to go to lake berryesa...haven't been there ever since we started going out. can't go in the water tho...for girly reasons...haha =) but still good to just chill in the sun...gotta give my tanless body some color...haha =)
anywayz, my days since my last xanga entry was crappy...that most crappy time of 2007. =( first, i got a speeding ticket from driving my rav4 on the 92 bridge, which was supposed to be the only interesting thing that could happen to me for the month (of april). but at the end of the month, the monday after the collaspse of the 880/580 junction, i got rear-ended again, but this time, i was the middle vehicle between two big SUVs. =( and the damage to my car was a lot worse...the back window of my car was all broken, both of my air bags deployed, and the front end of my car (from hitting the GMC in front of me) got smushed inward (but not enough to cause damage to my engine and other internal parts). it was basically the front and back end that needed to be repaired, but the cost of doing that and replacing the air bags would cost more than what my car is worth ($13,000 to save while my car was only worth $8,000). so they totaled it. =( *sigh* i was so sad that i wanted to cry. i got a new car now...just a corolla LE, but im still dealing with the partially false police report (at least for the statement on my part, since the police wrote things down that i did not say). now im just waiting what the results will be for the incident and coping w/ the loss of my baby rav4. =( i miss driving that car and getting another rav4 will not be the same, so i decided on the coralla instead =( i might upgrade to a lexus later, but we'll see. =)
and from the accident, im seeing a chiropractor for my bad whiplash (the lady that rear-ended me hit me REALLY hard). and i went to the hospital to get some x-rays done. my neck and upper back is feeling a lot better, but my chiropractor says that my neck still tenses up when it shouldn't be. so i still have to see him 3x a week. *sigh* i used to like to go on irving (in the sunset district) to eat and shop, but since i have to go there so many times now (to see my chiropractor), i don't like irving street anymore. but noriega is still okay, since i don't have to go there too much to see my primary physician.
but i had to see my primary physician for being sick (i started to get bad allergies, which i usually don't get in the bay area, and was feeling really nauseated). there were days that i could not even focus on my job b/c of my cold/nausea. *sigh* last month (of may) was just a horrible month! =( i was sick, depressed, and mad b/c of everything that happened. as for my speeding ticket, i signed up for traffic school next month. i was gonna do it this sat, but my mom wants to use that day to celebrate belated mother's day. =) we're planning to eat dim sum in daly city (prob koi palace) and bowling afterwards. my mom used to bowl in macau when she was younger, but the last she bowled was w/ my family in vegas, which was about 2 yrs ago, so she wants to go again. =) we didn't get to celebrate mother's day last month b/c she had to work and my sis had to study for her finals. so now it's our chance to go out again, since we don't do it very much. but during the time when i was test driving toyotas on 2nd and geary, my mom was there w/ me, so at least i got to spend quality time w/ my mom during that time.
so yeah...things are a bit better now except for the police report. it just sucks b/c we have to start paying off a car again (all of our cars were paid off except for my mom's rav4). well, at least my parents don't have to worry about paying it this time, since i'll be paying for it. but i did spend a lot of money maintaining my old rav4 (in less than a year) and i felt like it was all for nothing. and the back parts of my old car were just replaced less than 6 months ago before i was hit again. *sigh* it just sucks, u know? my car was in really good condition and now it's ruined! =( now im afraid of drivers hitting my car when im on the road. the only i can do is avoid the curse of the left (fast) lane, since i was hit on this lane 2x, and drive in the middle lanes w/ the slower cars. at least i know they like to stay many car lengths behind u compared to the cars on the left lane that like to tail gate u. and im gonna start being like the other cars in the middle lane too by braking a lot earlier just so that the cars behind me will slow down. argh...stupid drivers that can't drive.
anywayz, i think im done ranting. hopefully my next entry will be a happy one.

| just a continuation from my last update. anywayz, the weekend after janice's and danny's son's one-month luncheon, i went to a giants game w/ lorene, annie, tiff, tiff's bf (charlie or charles?), and my BB against the dodgers. lorene's coworkers went too, but they did not sit next to us. that nite was foggy and cold, but i had so much fun!!! we got free giants foam fingers (mine is sitting on a heavy-duty hole puncher at my cubicle now...heehee) and kept hitting each other w/ it...haha....lorene, CHARGE!!! =) we lost (1-2?) b/c our offense was kinda sucky and they didn't take noah lowry out after when he started giving away hits...no offense to the guy, since he's cute and all, but he's gotta go when he can't pitch no more. and there were two fights among the giants and dodgers fans...first time for me to watch at the ballpark. no one was really paying attention to the game while the fights were going on, but man...it was bad. there was one guy who even fell down three rows of stairs after getting hit or pushed (i don't remember which was which). but in the end, the security or police kicked all of them out. i think lorene's coworker's bf(?) was involved in one of the fights and got a black eye. so yeah..it was crazy. but overall, a very fun nite. think we were supposed to meet up w/ michelle for karoke afterwards, but we were tired and our voices were too sore to go. but we'll definitely have a karoke nite sometime soon!!! =) just not on the nite of a giants game...heehee =) can't wait to go to another giants (vs) dodgers game next fri. thanx for inviting me and alex again, lorene!!! =) then on sat, i met up w/ my dad (who drove up from vegas) and mom to visit and pray for my grandma (she passed last dec) at this cemetery-like place (where the bodies are not buried but cremated and kept in the urns) in daly city. it's good to visit her, but sad to think that she's not here anymore. but she's been suffering for the past 2-3yrs in the nursing home, so i guess it's a relief for her that she finally gets to move on. ever since she fell down the stairs which resulted in a hip surgery and being transferred to a nursing home, she has not fully recovered...physically and mentally. she also had parkinson's disease and had no mind stimulation from the nursing home staff in terms of remembering, so everything for her just went downhill from there. i wonder if she would still be alive today if she had not fallen down the stairs. she prob would have and i would have gotten to visit her this past chinese new year. *sigh* may my grandma rest in piece. i miss her a lot. then the next friday at work, i found out that the temp worker in my group is related to me! what a small world! =) he's my distant cousin. his (direct) aunt, is my dad's step-sister (my dad and his step-sis have the same dad, but not the same mom...my grandpa married 4x). what a weird coincidence, huh??? =) i was so shocked when i found out that day. but it's cool. even though he's more directly related to his (direct) uncle and not his aunt, we're still related in some way...by three degrees??? whatever the actual relation is, i just refer him as my distant or step-cuz...heehee =) my family knows his aunt and uncle and when i got rear-ended, i even took my rav4 to his uncle's shop to have it fixed...that was the start of a conversion that i brought up to my step-cuz (heehee...it still feels weird to call him that) at work that led us to find out that we were related. he was shocked too and later asked his aunt if her original maiden name was "Ho" and she said it was, since that was my grandpa's last name. then i told my mom about him when i saw her that weekend. i have never worked in the same group w/ someone related to me, but it's not like we knew about it. like i said, it's just a weird coincidence. a very good, but weird one! =) alrighty, i can't update on anything else now, since i have used up more of my lunch time and have things to do at my desk...but stay tuned! i have lots more to update! =) | | |
